Vinyasa Workshop With Paul

This class is taught by:

Olga Allon

Olga was working as an architect until 2003. During this time she felt increasingly stressed in all parts of her life and started to feel aches and pains in her body from spending much time in front of a computer. Olga had tried other types of yoga but spent a long time of putting off going to try a Bikram class. ‘..when I finally made it to class I was immediately drawn to the yoga because of the challenge that every class gave me. I very quickly started to feel better about my body and I felt more relaxed.’ Olga continued a regular Bikram practice for 4 years before embarking on her life changing decision to give up her regular job and train to become a teacher. Olga’s dream was to combine her love of yoga with her love of architecture and design a space where people could come and enjoy this fantastic yoga. ‘I feel that in Fulham, I have created a beautiful retreat for people to get away from the hectic world around them and do something incredibly good for their body and mind.’ Olga believes that Bikram yoga is for everyone, whatever their age, size, body type. Olga’s first daughter, Yasmin, was born in 2005 and Skye was born in 2007.

Sam G Goddard

Sam attended her first Bikram yoga class in April 2006 and immediately loved it- the challenge, the heat, the discipline, the energy and the 26 postures. 'I knew that I had found something very special and that I wanted to teach Bikram yoga one day.'
Sam loves that through her regular yoga practice, the lower back pain that she had suffered for several years has disappeared and she generally feels very healthy, particularly straight after class. Sam completed the Bikram yoga teacher training in September 2011, then in November 2014 she trained to teach aerial yoga. 'I am truly grateful and honoured to be able to teach this yoga and help others get the benefits from their practice,' says Sam.

Paul Spencer Dobson

Paul was on a trip to Miami 2004 when he saw a sign for a Bikram Yoga studio. After the first class he was hooked, he couldn’t get enough of it! Paul practiced every day of his vacation. Returning to London, Paul continued with his practice before going on the teacher training in Spring 2006. Paul’s background is in Contemporary Dance. He performed for various dance companies around Europe and his yoga practice has given him focus. Paul enjoys teaching and being able to support the students with their practice. Paul encourages students to have an awareness of their body, mind and the process of practicing yoga. He teaches a disciplined, positive class with a light sense of humour.

Carolyn Jikemi-Roberts

CJ Roberts: Head Teacher & Studio Director.

For CJ, yoga has been a life-saver, bringing balance to her life. CJ's neck and shoulders, which were damaged in a car accident, became pain-free through regular practice. Importantly, she has learnt to focus and be satisfied with what she can give mentally and physically on a class-by-class basis every day, just as long as she's doing her best. CJ has extremely high standards and tries optimally in all aspects of her life, always committing to going that extra mile if that's what's needed. She truly believes that people of all ages can and should practice yoga, especially those from eight to nine years up. Life for young people is quite fast these days and more than anything they need to be in touch with their inner selves and know their limitations to build their self-confidence.

CJ's ultimate goal as a teacher, coupled with her natural ability to read the body and quickly assess misalignments and potential weaknesses, is to train some yoga champions of the future. CJ teaches a dynamic class, leaving your whole body worked hard. This leaves you energised and refreshed. In her dual role as a studio owner in Brighton and Balham, CJ hopes to enthuse all the students at her studios with her wealth of experience gained from observing how yoga really does heal, change the way we think and behave, but most of all, change the way we interact with people in our lives. 'Self love, self preservation and a will to succeed, starts with you.'

"Join me Paul Spencer Dobson to explore the practice of Vinyasa flow and the standing poses. We will playfully concentrate on the Vinyasa sequence: being mindful through conscious placement. Meditation, breathing exercise and deep relaxation will be integrated during the workshop. As always all levels are welcome so we hope to see you there."
